In 1967, your Emerald Society was founded by past presidents, Jack McMahon and Bill Conklin.

The 82 members who joined that year are now considered charter members. Monthly meetings were held at the Lake Ronkonkoma Firehouse on Portion Road in Lake Ronkonkoma.

In 1967 our organization became a member of the Grand Council – United Emerald Society of New York.

As many of you are aware, on December 18, 2017, NYS Trooper Joseph Gallagher was outside of his patrol vehicle assisting a disabled vehicle when he was struck by a passing vehicle.  Trooper Gallagher sustained a traumatic brain injury and his prognosis is still unknown.  Trooper Gallagher is married with two children ages 3 years old and 9 mouths.  If you could please forward this information to your respective PBAs and other law enforcement supporters to consider a donation to Trooper Gallagher and his family, you can do so through the New York State Troopers PBA Signal 30 Benefit Fund. By donating through the Signal 30 Fund, 100% of the funds earmarked for Trooper Gallagher will go directly to him and his family.  THERE ARE NO ADMINISTRAVTIVE FEES.
